Well, here we are at the beginning of May. I had a sense that God was speaking to us on Sunday in ways that seemed deeper than words. I look forward to reading your thoughts. Here's the "Becoming a Family of Purpose" ideas I mentioned in the message.
Pastor Rick
Becoming a Family of Purpose
1. How do people respond when someone tries to control them?
2. How do people respond when someone loves them and speaks honestly with them?
3. What needs to change in our family?
4. Reflect on this passage this week Ephesians 4-5.

When someone tries to control them people usually rebel and do the opposite.
When someone responds in love and speaks honestly with them..they usually draw closer and try hard to be who that person wants them to be.
I was at a wedding this last week end and did not hear the sermon but read it.
Hi Peggy,
Great comment. Speaking of weddings, I've noticed that the "control" game for many couples begins pretty intensely not too long after the wedding is over. What would you (or anyone else out there reading this) say to the couple who is caught in the "rule over you" syndrome?
Pastor Rick
I have always thought.. and not too many people do this any more..
since this is a "all about me" society..
But the rule is..treat others as YOU would like to be treated.
And regard others ( or your spouse ) as higher than yourself..as in esteem them higher.
If we can put ourselves into the other persons shoes..or try to, we can see their side much better.
To GIVE is better than to receive.
That's all folks.
