Hi Bloggers of Shalom,
I hope you've enjoyed our blog. I have enjoyed reading your thoughts. I've also had some people comment to me that they have been reading but not leave a message; another mentioned she had difficulty actually signing in. So I'm curious to know how many of you out there have been reading but not signing in. Maybe this week you could just say "hi". Also, if you could let me know what helped you grow during these messages that would be very helpful feedback. And, here's the weekly thoughts/challenges.
Becoming a Family of Purpose
1. Do we/I have a balanced spirituality that does not exclude the concept of spiritual battle but also does not exaggerate the idea of spiritual battle?
2. Are there anger issues that need to be dealt with?
3. Pray for spiritual protection.
May God form us into the amazing people He intends us to be. May God grant us a heart for all generations (Malachi 4:6).

The topic of spiritual warfare as it relates to our families is oft overlooked to the demise of many a family. I am thankful for the reminder to pray specifically for my family's spiritual protection. Thanks, Pastor Rick.
I was appreciative of the second question posed (regarding anger). It dives deep to the core of our beings and drudges up the fact that we have been hurt, that things didn't go the way we'd planned, that life isn't neat nor tidy, especially family life.
I enjoyed much relief from anger by going through the book Lord, Heal my Hurts by Kay Arthur. This book is great because she doesn't tell you much at all; it is an inductive Bible study (meaning you are learning from your interaction with scripture and not so much from the author's take on it). If you are struggling with having anything other than abiding peace with God, I would reccomend checking this book out from the church library and sticking with it (I believe it is a 40 day study)to let Kay Arthur guide you through God's Word and prayer with Him, for He is the one that can offer peace as a replacement for anger in your soul!
My prayer right now is for peace in our souls, siblings at Shalom, for when we have anger within, it is very difficult to have healthy relationships with others.
Much love to you all!
